Anne Wynn Weissinger

 

Anne Wynn Weissinger is a native of a Greenville, and has lived in Rolling Fork with her husband Charles for 34 years. She is an active member of the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Rolling Fork. She and Charles are the parents of three grown children: Leila, Charlie and Guy, and grandparents of two grandsons, Jackson and Hyde.

Anne received her B.S. in Psychology from Sophie Newcombe College in New Orleans, and a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Delta State University in 1981. She spent many years in the mental health field as a counselor and consultant. She also served as a consultant for several school districts as a school psychometrist. For the last 8 years she has taught various subjects to teenagers at Sharkey Issaquena Academy, including art.

At age 50, Anne began to rediscover her creative side. She has studied under Pat Walker and Nancy Stone-Streett, as well as other artists through DAA workshops. Anne's other interests and activities include studying Spanish and serving on the Board of Directors at The Foundation for Delta State; the GREAT DELTA BEAR Affair festival in Rolling Fork; genealogy (DAR, Colonial Dames, and First Families of Mississippi); and the Greenville Garden Club.
