Les Torrans

 

After receiving his B.S. degree in 1969, Les Torrans served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Africa for four years.  He returned to earn his Ph. D. degree, and during his career he has managed two catfish farms, has taught and conducted aquaculture research in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi, and has worked as a consultant in over 20 countries. He came to Mississippi in 1999 where he conducts research with the USDA in Stoneville, MS. He is an avid amateur photographer. He can be contacted at les.torrans@ars.usda.gov.
