2017 Member Show at Bass: November 10
This is our annual membership exhibit with our partner, the Greenville Arts Council. The work is shown at their Roger Malkin Gallery inside the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center. We appreciate the opportunity to exhibit in this beautiful space each year.
The judge for the exhibit was Michael Stanley, Assistant Professor of Art at Delta State University. He selected the following for recognition:
Merit Award in Photography - Jack Catlette for “Shades of Grey”
Merit Award in Works on Canvas - Sandy Solomon for “Taxi Depot”
Merit Award in 3D Art - Randy New for “Lighthouse”
Merit Award in Works on Paper - Lynda Trammell for “Mount Holly”
3rd Place - Vicki Murray for “Eight”
2nd Place - Honey Dean for “You Dirty Old Goat”
Best in Show - Mary Catherine Davis for “Stoneville 1934”
DAA members and guests voted on two awards: The Peer Award went to Lynda Trammell for “Mount Holly,” and The People’s Choice Award was awarded to Cherie Clark Hamel for “Split.”
Congratulations to you all! Many thanks to Mary Catherine Davis and her Exhibit Committee for hanging a beautiful exhibit, and to Mary Lynn Powers and her Hospitality Committee for the exceptionally generous and delicious refreshments.
